Originally founded as an Artist’s colony for promising talent in the 1930-1950’s, The Maitland Art Center continues to serve and celebrate the creative spirit.
This cultural compound offers studio art classes and workshops, changing exhibitions in its galleries, and special events (Children's Art Festival - April 25, 2009) throughout the year. Listed on the National Record of Historic Places, the Center was the creation of Architect and Artist Jules André Smith and is unique is its Mayan and Aztec influenced murals, sculptures and bas reliefs found throughout the gardens . Hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday through Sunday. Admission: General $3 Maitland residents + Seniors $2
